Christina O'Neill
Christina O'Neill is a Helpmann award winning actor, who has established herself as one of Australia’s most versatile and distinctive performers since graduating from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA).
She is currently appearing in the Malthouse’s immersive theatre production Hour of the Wolf. Christina most recently appeared in the sold-out season of Bloom (Melbourne Theatre Company).
Highlights from her theatrical roles include Adelaide Adams/Susan in Calamity Jane (Arts Centre/Comedy Theatre), Cynthia in Vivid White (MTC), Julie LaVerne in Showboat (The Production Company), the Baker’s Wife in Into The Woods (Victorian Opera), Dot in Sunday in the Park with George (Victorian Opera), Christmas Eve in the acclaimed Australia/NZ tour of Avenue Q (Arts Asia Pacific) for which she won a Helpmann Award (Best Supporting Actress in a Musical) in 2010.
Christina is an ensemble member at Red Stitch Actors Theatre, Australia’s leading ensemble theatre company. Her Red Stitch Theatre credits include Control, Right Now, The River, Middletown, Belleville, Straight, and The Motherfucker with the Hat.
Other theatre credits include Gaybies (Midsumma Festival), April in Savage in Limbo (Workhorse Theatre Company), Maddy in Prodigal (45 Downstairs), Lady of the Lake standby in Monty Python’s Spamalot (Louise Withers & Associates), Tell Me on A Sunday (Kookaburra) and as a Diva in Priscila, Queen of the Desert the Musical.
She also features on the original Australian cast recording of Priscilla Queen of the Desert and on the albums, Showqueen Sessions and Together Apart (which are all available for purchase on iTunes).
Christina has also performed at various cabaret nights and concerts such as Trevor Ashley’s Showqueen, Light the Night, the A.P.E.C Gala Concert at the Opera House, Helpmann Awards, Sydney Cabaret Showcase (El Rocco Jazz Room) and Up Close and Musical for Kookaburra.
Christina’s screen credits include Neighbours (Ten), Power of the Dream (Chips & Gravy Films), Winners & Losers (Seven Network), The Divorce (ABC), City Homicide (Seven Network), feature films Relic (IFC Films), The Great Raid (Miramax) and numerous live television appearances including The Morning Show and Mornings with Kerrie-Anne.
